We’ve been discussing the role of technology in modern society. While some people believe technology has improved our quality of life, others argue that it has created new social and psychological challenges. How do you feel about the impact of technology on our daily lives?

Claire:

I think technology has greatly improved our quality of life. It has made communication easier, improved access to information, and created countless opportunities for innovation and growth. Overall, technology has made life more convenient and connected.

Paul:

I believe technology has created significant social and psychological challenges. The constant connectivity can lead to stress and burnout, and social media can contribute to feelings of isolation and inadequacy. We need to be mindful of how technology affects our well-being.

For example, a patient in a rural area can speak with a doctor online instead of traveling for hours. Digital tools also help students study and allow employees to work more flexibly. Paul is right that constant connectivity can cause stress, but this problem comes from how people use technology rather than from technology itself. Individuals can turn off notifications and protect time away from screens. When used responsibly, modern tools save time, connect families, and create educational and economic opportunities. Overall, these benefits are greater than the manageable risks.
